Nobu
did a five year apprenticeship with Terukichi Kato, one of
the famous Kato family, near Omiya, Japan.
This
training dealt with the care and refinement of bonsai, and
the display of trees, both in a sales environment and in exhibitions.
He
has been teaching these techniques since 1990, working in
extensively in Europe and the UK. He directs and teaches an
in-depth training course held at the Crespi museum, near Milan,
and maintains the trees in the museum.
Nobu
was responsible for setting up the viewing exhibition for
an auction of top quality trees at Sotheby's, as well as a
major exhibition in Frankfurt Germany. He is also the artistic
director for occasional Winter shows held at Capel Manor,
North London.
